In Sumatera system, a 275kVAC line to connect Northern and Southern part of Sumatera is planned to be in operation by 2010. It is indicated that large scale of mine mouth power plants can be constructed in east Sumatera. For that reasons, a link of mine mouth in south and central Sumatera should be considered to anticipate power transfer to the north and export to Malaysia in the future.

The basic form of an HVDC converter consists of a 6 pulse bridge using thyristor valves. A thyristor valve may contain many individual thyristors assembled in series and parallel combination to provide the required voltage and current ratings. The most commonly used converter configuration is 12 pulse arrangements which is a combined unit of two 6 pulse converters.
高壓直流輸電變流器的基本構(gòu)成部分為采用晶閘管閥運(yùn)行的六脈波橋式變流器。晶閘管閥可能包含若干組裝在串聯(lián)和并聯(lián)組合中的單個(gè)晶閘管,從而提供所需電壓和額定電流。使用最廣泛的變流器結(jié)構(gòu)為十二脈波裝置,由兩組六脈波變流器組成。
The converters naturally produce harmonics. The higher the converter pulse number, the lower the harmonics produced. However, studies have shown that 12-pulse arrangement is the optimal configuration for HVDC transmission based on the overall cost, including the cost of converters and the filters.
變流器會(huì)自然產(chǎn)生諧波。變流器脈波頻率越高,所產(chǎn)生的諧波次數(shù)越低。然而,研究表明,按所有成本(包括變流器和濾波器成本)計(jì)算,十二脈波裝置是高壓直流輸電裝置的最佳配置。
